There has been much debate as to which envelope one might use when sending out a shared pack.
We believe the polythene envelope is best because it allows the administrator to see at once the Newsletter from the School of Educational Administrators which is on the front of all Hamilton House shared mailing packs.
Others have argued that higher response rates come from using a paper envelope on the outside. We don't believe this is so. Although a paper envelope will encourage administrators to open a pack the first few times, after a while this effect can wear off. Also there is a factor known as Emotional Annoyance, in which a recipient of direct mail can become frustrated if an item is deemed to interrupt the work of the recipient by being something other than that which it proclaims to be.
This is a complex area - and if you are interested you might like to follow up the issue in more detail by following the links below to a articles on another of our websites, www.theory.bz
